Dog Daycare In Leawood/Prairie Village

Most dogs are social animals. They crave human interaction, socialization with other dogs, and exercise. If you’re off at work or busy at school, and your dog is home alone, they’re probably pretty bored. We are here to provide a fun, clean, and safe environment for your dog to get the exercise and socialization they crave.

● Separate size and breed play and stay spaces.

● Different play and stay spaces for small, medium, and large dogs at all locations.

● We oversee each play space – playing with the dogs, cleaning, interacting with the dogs (dog kisses), and using behavioral training techniques to keep the environment calm.

● Doggie Daycare Savings Passes that can save you money.

● Convenient curbside drop-off and pick-up

● Clean floors and beds.

● Private webcams so pet parents can monitor pups at play.

We provide webcam access to all of our clients so that they can check in on their happy pets.

We take the safety of the pets in our care very seriously, so each dog must first complete a Free Meet & Greet to ensure that they are a good fit for Daycare. Book your dog's Meet & Greet today for a FREE trial day of Daycare!

The Importance Of Resting

Routine rest time during daycare is not only important to the health of your pet but also for the safety of the entire pack. Resting refers to the downtime in between playtimes during daycare. This gives your pet a chance to recuperate so they do not exhaust themselves before their visit comes to an end, which is especially important for our full-day guests. Additionally, resting significantly decreases the chances of injuries within the pack. Just like with humans, rest allows for both mental and physical recovery, for their overall health and wellbeing.

First Time At Dog Pawz?

● If this is your first visit to Dog Pawz, you will need to call your store location to schedule your Meet and Greet day. Meet and Greet days can be scheduled for Monday – Thursday. Once we have entered your information into our system, you will have access to your online account and will be able to book daycare and boarding reservations online, as well as camera access.

● Please bring in a copy of your pup's updated shot records (Rabies 1 year/Distemper 1 year/Bordetella 6 months) on your Meet and Greet day.

● All pups must be wearing a leather, nylon, or canvas collar upon arrival. For safety reasons, please remove metal pinch collars, chain collars, spike collars, electric fence collars, and harnesses. Dog Pawz is not responsible for damaged collars or flea collars.

● For first-timers, we have a “New Dog Introduction Procedure”. We place your dog in a small area next to their designated play area so they can get used to the smells and sounds. Depending on the dog and the breed, the introduction period varies. We have found this technique helps with new anxiety jitters.

● We also encourage half-day play days so your dog can get used to staying with us before they stay for an extended period of time. During this time, we are able to better understand your dog’s behavior and tendencies, making everyone comfortable and your dog’s stay with us safer.

● Spay/Neuter Policy: We require dogs over 6 months of age to be spayed or neutered.

● Required Vaccinations: Written proof from your veterinarian of current Rabies, DHPP, Canine Influenza, and Bordetella (every 6 months) is required for your dog to stay with us. If your dog needs any of the required vaccines in this list, our vet would be happy to administer them here. Dog Pawz is a one-stop shop for your pet's needs!

The Importance Of Socialization

Proper socialization with other dogs and other humans is critical to having a happy, healthy, and well-adjusted pet. With many people spending more time away from home, your furry family member may now be home alone for long periods of the day for the first time in a while. The stress of solitude can cause anti-social habits such as destructive chewing, persistent digging, excessive barking, or other signs of separation anxiety. Pets may also show signs of stress such as drooling, attempts to escape, and pacing.

If your pet is suffering from separation anxiety or simply the boredom of home isolation after many months of company, bring them to daycare with us! Daycare provides your loved one with the pack environment dogs are accustomed to, creating a trusted second home for your pet while you are away. Bringing your pup to daycare with us provides all the physical, mental, and social exercise your dog needs. Give us a call to learn more about the socialization benefits of daycare.
